Question 4620 Race, Ethnicity + Culture

From chapter 10 of the book Reading Children’s Literature by Hintz and Tribunella (Race, Ethnicity +
Culture) The thought will critically engage one or two issues within the reading. This is not a summary of
what was read, but an attempt to go beyond the text. This means that asking questions, making
connections/disconnections, exploring practical applications, or critiquing the perspectives privileged
within the reading are all possibilities.

Question 4621 Diversity Interview of someone

This assignment is two page interview of someone from another country to show diversity of how we
differ. It requires a title. I completed most of the attached Powerpoint but page four of the powerpoint
could use a few more details. Two page word document showing you interviewed someone from
another country. Questions to consider is content about his culture, foods, just get creative. The
document should give the audience a better idea of who my interviewee, Houari is who resides in
Algeria but he is originally from Morocco. Please look into the culture briefly to get an idea of suitable
yet easy realistic content about the two places, possible foods they might like. Please remember the
research is NOT to talk about the country but to lay the foundation of who Houari is and to give my
audience more cogent detail. Please include interview content about how they have a bath house called
a hammam in his country where men are only permitted to go three days a week. When I mention ideas
that could add to the substance of the topic, I anxiously anticipate where can we take this. The other
thing I would like to include is the condition of his country where some homes do not have roof tops and
some use fire burning trashcans. Houari actually has a home with a roof and does not resort to using fire
burning trash cans for heat. The content in the powerpoint is a fair start but I am looking for content
that really shows we learned about Houari during the interview. He actually likes his home to some
degree but prefers to be in the US. He struggled with having to return home to take care of his mother
after the passing of his father. The Hammam bath house is an extraordinary opportunity to show culture
differences in the sense that a percentage of the homes in Algeria doe not have a full bathroom
whereas, in the US, we have one full bathroom and some homes have several bathrooms. There culture
uses a hamman bath house several times a week and men are only permitted on certain days. Another
great example from my was the condition of some of the homes not having a roof due to poverty to
show our differences in the US. Let’s really use robust cogent writing with vivid detail to show who
Houari is and intertwine the instructions with the ideas I provided. Another important detail is a lemon
tree that he has in his back yard and how he was fascinated by my culture use of lemons to make
lemonade. Another important interview detail is how he buys unpackaged bread in a large barrel that
purchasers usually pick through to determine freshness before buying. They then place the unpacked
long unsliced (sorry, I don’t know what this unsliced bread is called can you please use the correct word)
on the car dashboard during travel back to their home.

Question 4635 Share your Data Charts

Share Your Data Charts As you gather data from various sources within your organization and prepare to
tell your data-driven story for continuous improvement, you will encounter visual representations of
those data in various charts. These could take many different forms depending on the purpose of the

data representation and the level of statistical sophistication of the intended consumers. They may
include pie charts, cluster column charts, scatter charts, or line charts. These may be in pivotal chart
format and include tables. More detailed charts might include box and whisker charts to demonstrate
range of confidence levels, histograms, treemaps, waterfall charts, funnel charts, sunburst, radar and
stock charts, each with its own purpose and advantages. There are also combo charts that overlay data
visuals. For this discussion, present one or two different charts or graphs that you have discovered in
your quest for data to drive your narrative and explain the chart, speculating as to why this is or is not
an appropriate choice of presentation and what might be a better way to visualize these data
representations. Note To ensure confidentiality, redact the name of your institution and or any other
identifying material. In the unlikely event that you cannot find any data representations, visuals, charts,
or graphs in your organization, you may use MS Excel to create your charts or other graphics from raw
data tables. For your discussion: Choose and share at least two data charts that will inform your
narrative project for this course. Remember to conceal the name of your organization or any other
information that might breach confidentiality. Summarize the content of these charts and indicate what
exactly they are representing. Include who you believe to be the intended consumer of these data
visualizations. Comment on the adequacy of the choice of format for these data representations. If they
are inadequate, what might be a better choice of format? Identify any data or information absent from
the chart that would improve its interpretation by the consumer. Speculate as to how these charts could
encourage and support the continuous improvement processes in your organization. In addition, share
any resources about quantitative concepts and statistics you have found particularly helpful thus far.
You are required to save this discussion to your ePortfolio. Response Guidelines Provide critical feedback
to two other learners using the 2+2 model of specific and balanced feedback by 11:59 p.m. CST on
Sunday of this unit. Cite any sources you use to support your assertions. Learning Components This
