Question 4282: spiritual case study
The purpose of this paper is to complete a comparative ethical analysis of the case study *attached* to study George’s situation and decision from the perspective of two worldviews or religions:Christianity and Judaism.
PART 1
In your comparative analysis, address all of the worldview questions in detail for Christianity and the Jewish faith. Refer to the the list of questions below. Once you have outlined the worldview of each religion, begin your ethical analysis from each perspective.
To understand the concept of worldview, answer the following questions:
- What is prime reality?
- What is the nature of the world around us?
- What is a human being?
- What happens to a person at death?
- Why is it possible to know anything at all?
- How do we know what is right and wrong?
- What is the meaning of human history?
PART 2
In 1,500-2,000 words, provide an ethical analysis based upon the different belief systems, reinforcing
major themes with insights gained from your research, and answering the following questions based on the research: (USE THE ATTACHED CASE STUDY FOR THIS PART)
1. How would each religion interpret the nature of George’s malady and suffering? Is there a “why” to his disease and suffering? (i.e., is there a reason for why George is ill, beyond the reality of physical malady?)
2. In George’s analysis of his own life, how would each religion think about the value of his life as a person, and value of his life with ALS?
3. What Sorts of values and considerations would each religion focus on in deliberating about whether or not George should opt for euthanasia?
4. Given the above, what options would be morally justified under each religion for George and why?
5. Finally, present and defend your own view (Christian but does not practice the faith actively, believes in god and jesus, heaven and hell but more conservative in the ideas to choose our own path and life choices vs. god’s will).
Support your position by referencing at least three academic resources in addition to the course readings, lectures, the Bible, and the textbooks for each religion. Each religion must have a primary source included. A total of six references are required according to the specifications listed above.
Incorporate the research into your writing in an appropriate, scholarly manner.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide. An abstract is required

Question 4283:
Discussion 1
Review the following research questions.
Is the use of soap and water or alcohol-based rubs more effective in preventing nosocomial infections?
Identify an appropriate research design.
An appropriate research design for this research question is quantitative research with an experimental design.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the design.
According to Roger Watson (2015), quantitative studies produce numbers that should be interpreted before conclusions may be drawn. This can be considered a strength for this design as numbers allows the researcher to draw conclusion easily. An area of weakness is the idea that the opportunity for error cannot be eliminated entirely. According to Watson (2015) “it is essential to store data carefully, once it has been entered into any package, since loss can jeopardize the study”.
Provide a rationale for the design you selected.
This design allows the research to manipulate the independent variable in order to study the effect it has on the dependent variable. In this case, the researcher is able to identify the effect of soap and water on the prevention of nosocomial infections and the effect is alcohol-based rubs on the prevention if nosocomial infections. The number of occurrences will be compared to draw a conclusion
How effective are anti-depressive medications on anxiety and depression?
Identify an appropriate research design.
An appropriate research design for this research question is qualitative design.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the design.
According to Leslie Gelling (2014), while utilizing qualitative research, nurses to understand health and illness experiences and offer ‘compassionate, person-centered care. This is considered to be a strength for this design. Gelling also stated that “a poorly worded question might lead the research in the wrong
direction, wasting the researcher’s time and, more importantly, wasting the research participants’ time if the chosen methodology is unable to answer the question (Gelling, 2014). This is the weakness of this design.
Provide a rationale for the design you selected.
Qualitative research is an approach to scientific inquiry that allows researchers to explore human experiences in personal and social contexts, and gain greater understanding of the factors influencing these experiences.
What is the difference in attitudes of male and female college students toward condoms?
Identify an appropriate research design.
An appropriate research design for this research question is a qualitative descriptive design. In a descriptive study without manipulating any variables.
Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the design.
According to Pathak, Jena, and Kalra (2013), qualitative research is now recognized for its ability to add a new dimension to interventional studies that cannot be obtained through measurement of variables alone. This can be considered to be a strength of this design. Qualitative studies should be well-designed and the aims of the study should be meticulously adjudicated (Pathak, Jena, & Kalra, 2013). On the other hand, descriptive research also presents the possibility for error and subjectivity. Confidentiality is the primary weakness of descriptive research (Murphy, n.d.). Often subjects are not truthful as they feel the need to tell the researcher what they think the researcher wants to hear (Murphy, n.d.).
Provide a rationale for the design you selected.
Qualitative method is used to understand people’s beliefs, experiences, attitudes, behavior, and interactions.

discussion 2
Use of Soap and Water Versus Alcohol-Based Rubs to Prevent Nosocomial Infections.
The study chosen for this topic researched the effects of waterless hand rubs versus the traditional hand scrubbing method to prevent infections in surgical rooms. One hundred operating room staff members from different medical centers were divided into two groups of fifty participants (Chen, Han, Kan, Chen & Hung, 2012). One group used waterless hand rubs and the other group of workers used traditional hand washing techniques as part of the scrubbing process for surgeries. The hands of the participants
were scrubbed and a bacterial culture was done on the two groups of participants (Chen et al., 2012).
After a forty-eight hour period of bacterial growth of both samples, the results demonstrated bacteria growth was equal among the two groups (Chen et al., 2012). There were no statistical significance found. The study concluded that alcohol-based rubs and water provide the same level of protection among operating room staff (Chen et al., 2012).
Strengths and Weaknesses
One of the strengths of the study was the method of conducting the study was the same among the two participant groups (Chen et al., 2012). The time the participants took in applying the alcohol-based rub and washing hands were the same. The weakness of the study was the participant sample was rather
small (Chen et al., 2012). A larger study conducted at different facilities provides better evidence of the findings. Also, a study with a larger sample population may have also resulted in different findings (Chen et al., 2012).
Rationale for the Design The study selected is a quantitative research that attempted to estimate the required scrubbing times using alcohol-based scrubs and traditional handwashing technique for operating room staff (Chen et al.,
2012).Also the study focused on comparing the use of alcohol-based hand rubs versus the traditional handwashing techniques in prevention of nosocomial infections in the operating room (Chen et al.,2012).
Relationship Between Alcohol and Breast Cancer
The article reviewed focused on possible pathways of alcohol into the breast tissue and possible consequences. The study also reviewed the women’s age in relations to drinking habits, in an attempt to identify a possible connection between early alcohol consumption among women and breast cancer
(Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015). The study concluded that moderate alcohol consumption is associated with higher risk of breast cancer (Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015).
Strengths and Weaknesses
A strength of the study is there was significant evidence to suggest that the risk of cancer increases by thirty-four percent for those women who had an alcohol intake greater than fifteen drinks per day (Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015). A weakness identified in the study was that other lifestyle components that
may increase the risk of breast cancer were not taken into consideration when conducting the study (Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015).
Rationale for the Design
This research was focused on the possible influence of timing and patterns of alcohol consumption and the possible mechanisms underlying alcohol and breast cancer association. The possible pathways of alcohol into the breast tissue were studied (Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015). The women’s age in relation
to drinking habits for possible connection between early alcohol consumption in women and breast cancer were also studied (Liu, Nguyen, & Colditz, 2015).
Difference in Attitudes Between Male and Female Students Towards Condoms
Female and male participants from a treatment-seeking substance abuse treatment program were studied in relations to their attitudes and skills towards the use of condoms. The study found that men found more barriers to using condoms than women (Calsyn, Peavy, Wells, Campbell, Hatch-Maillette,
Greenfield & Tross, 2013). The study used electronic interviews for assessment of skills and attitude towards the use of condom (Calsyn et al., 2013).
Strengths and Weaknesses
A strength of the study was the participants researched were at high risk for unprotected sex practice (Calsyn et al., 2013). A limitation found in the study was that the information was taken from two different studies that were not designed to compare men and women (Calsyn et al., 2013). Another limitation of the study was the participants studied were a selected population from a drug abuse
treatment program, which may or may have not influenced the findings (Calsyn et al., 2013).
Rationale for the Design
The reason for the study was to examine the differences between males and females in relationship to condom use; the attitude towards the practice of wearing condom and the skills among both groups
(Calsyn et al., 2013).

Question 4288: Depressive Disorders
The National Institutes of Mental Health acknowledges that depression is one of the most common mental disorders in the United States. It is associated with significant disability, fiscal impact, and considerable personal suffering. It may have significant impact on the individual, their family, and their social network. The PMHNP must be capable of providing comprehensive care for depressive disorders, including both psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic approaches.
This week, you will become “captain of the ship” as you take full responsibility for a client with a depressive disorder. You will recommend psychopharmacologic treatment and psychotherapy, identify medical management needs and community support, and recommend follow-up plans. You will also explore how to obtain a DEA license and the responsibilities for safe prescribing and prescription monitoring.
“Captain of the Ship” – Depressive Disorder
As nurse practitioners strive to achieve full-autonomous practice across the country, it should be noted that many states grant this ability to practice independently to psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners. To that end, you will be engaging in projects this semester that assume that you are practicing in a state that allows full-practice authority for NPs, meaning that the PMHNP may be the “captain of the ship” concerning caring for a patient population. The “captain of the ship” is the one who makes referrals to specialists, coordinates care for their patients/clients, and is responsible and accountable for patient/client outcomes overall. This is a decided change from a few decades ago when
physicians were the “captain of the ship” and NPs played a peripheral role.
In this Assignment, you will become the “captain of the ship” as you provide treatment recommendations and identify medical management, community support resources, and follow-up plans for a client with a depression disorder.
Learning Objectives
Students will:
· Recommend psychopharmacologic treatments based on therapeutic endpoints
for clients with depression disorders
· Recommend psychotherapy based on therapeutic endpoints for clients with
depression disorders
· Identify medical management needs for clients with depression disorders
· Identify community support resources for clients with depression disorders
· Recommend follow-up plans for clients with depression disorders
Assignment (Project)
To prepare for this Assignment:
Select an adult or older adult client with a depressive disorder you have seen in your practicum. In 3–4 pages, write a treatment plan for your client in which you do the following:
Describe the HPI and clinical impression for the client. Recommend psychopharmacologic treatments and describe specific and therapeutic endpoints for your psychopharmacologic agent. (This should relate to HPI and clinical impression.)
Recommend psychotherapy choices (individual, family, and group) and specific therapeutic endpoints for your choices.
Identify medical management needs, including primary care needs, specific to this client.
Identify community support resources (housing, socioeconomic needs, etc.) and community agencies that are available to assist the client. Recommend a plan for follow-up intensity and frequency and collaboration with other providers including PCP or medical provider.
Tip for the Assignment
This week assignment, you will ‘captain the ship’ you are the provider and writing the diagnostic work- up and treatment plan for a patient with DEPRESSIVE DISORDER. You will develop plans for a patient
that you have worked with in your practicum.
A few comments about the ‘Captain of the Ship’ assignment. The spirit of the assignment is that you are directing the client’s care, not simply writing a paper about depressive disorder. When you are the team leader, it’s important to provide authoritative direction for other providers. In your treatment plan, it’s
good to outline your collaboration with client’s other providers. Later in the quarter, you will have another opportunity to complete ‘Captain of the Ship’ project.
I have attached an excellent example of a different Captain of the Ship project with this assignment and.
Note that this assignment is on depressive disorder, not on Obsessive Compulsive.

Question 4289: Group Processes
Group therapy is an effective treatment option for a wide range of disorders and is much more cost- efficient than individual therapy. As a result, many insurance companies are showing preference for group therapy over individual therapy. This has led to more therapists including group therapy in their practices, making it very likely that you will facilitate group therapy in the future. To successfully develop groups and apply this therapeutic approach, it is essential for you to have an understanding of group processes and formation.
This week, as you examine group processes and stages of formation, you explore curative factors of groups and strategies for managing intragroup conflict. You also assess progress for a client family receiving psychotherapy and develop progress and privileged psychotherapy notes for the family.
Assignment: Group Processes and Stages of Formation
In your role, you must understand group processes and stages of formation, as this will help you develop groups and determine an individual’s appropriateness for group therapy. Whether you are at the beginning stages of group formation or facilitating a session for a developed group, it is important to consider factors that may influence individual client progress.
For this Assignment, as you examine the video Group Therapy: A Live Demonstration in this week’s
Learning Resources
Consider the group’s processes, stages of formation, and other factors that might
impact the effectiveness of group therapy for clients.
To prepare:
· Review this week’s Learning Resources and reflect on the insights they provide
on group processes.
· View the media, Group Therapy: A Live Demonstration, and consider the group
dynamics. (THE VIDEO TRANSCRIPT IS ATTACHED TO THIS ASSIGNMENT)
The Assignment
In 3-page paper, address the following:
· Explain the group’s processes and stage of formation.
· Explain curative factors that occurred in the group. Include how these factors
might impact client progress.
· Explain intragroup conflict that occurred and recommend strategies for
managing the conflict. Support your recommendations with evidence-based
literature.

Question 4290:
Compare and contrast two change theories, and determine which theory makes the most sense for implementing your specific EBP project. Why? Has your mentor used either theory, and to what result? This is for a nursing school assignment.
This is for a nursing school assignment. My project is catheter related urinary tract infection(UTI), and the theory supposed to be a nursing field. I need it as soon as possible. At least two references (peer reviewed research paper or a 1 book and 1 research paper).
Question 4291: Planned Change in a Department or Unit
Assignment: Application: Planned Change
in a Department or Unit Health care organizations are continuously immersed in change from the emergence of new policies, to promote quality care and improve patient safety to keeping pace with the rapid growth in knowledge and best practices. Establishing a solid framework for planning and implementing change is a wise move, as it provides a foundation for the extensive coordination that will be needed to successfully facilitate the change.
For this Assignment, you propose a change at the department or unit level and develop a plan for guiding the change effort.
To prepare:
Review Chapter 8 in the course text. Focus on Kurt Lewin’s change theory, and contrast it with other classic change models and strategies.
Reflect on problems, inefficiencies, and critical issues within a specific department, unit, or area in your organization or one with which you are familiar. Select one issue as a focal point for this assignment, and consider a change that could be made to address the issue.
Think about how the change would align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values as well as relevant professional standards.
Using one of the change models or strategies discussed in Chapter 8, begin formulating a plan for implementing the change within the department/unit. Outline the steps that you and/or others should follow to facilitate the change effort. Align these steps to the change model or strategy you selected.
Determine who should be involved in initiating and managing the change. Consider the skills and characteristics that are necessary to facilitate this change effort.
To complete:By Day 7
Write a 3- to 5-page paper (page count does not include title and reference page) that addresses the following:
Identify a problem, inefficiency, or issue within a specific department/unit.
Describe a specific, realistic change that could be made to address the issue.
Summarize how the change would align with the organization’s mission, vision, and values as well as relevant professional standards.
Identify a change model or strategy to guide your planning for implementing the change. Provide a rationale for your selection.
Outline the steps that you and/or others would follow to facilitate the change. Align these steps to your selected change model or strategy.
Explain who would be involved in initiating and managing this change. Describe the skills and characteristics that would be necessary to facilitate the change effort.
Reminder: The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references.
Question 4292: ESSENTIALS OF EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICE
Course Project: Part 3—Translating Evidence Into Practice
(Link for part 1 – https://www.homeworkmarket.com/content/nurs-5052nurs-6052-essentials- evidence-based-practice-course-project-part-1-grading-rubic-an)
(Link for part 2 – https://www.homeworkmarket.com/content/nurs-5052nurs-6052-essentials- evidence-based-practice-course-project-part-2-grading-rubic-an)
Now that you have located available research on your PICOT question, you will examine what the research indicates about nursing practices. Connecting research evidence and findings to actual decisions and tasks that nurses complete in their daily practice is essentially what evidence-based practice is all about. This final component of the Course Project asks you to translate the evidence and data from your literature review into authentic practices that can be adopted to improve health care outcomes. In addition, you will also consider possible methods and strategies for disseminating evidence-based practices to your colleagues and to the broader health care field.
To prepare:
Consider Parts 1 and 2 of your Course Project. How does the research address your PICOT question?
With your PICOT question in mind, identify at least one nursing practice that is supported by the evidence in two or more of the articles from your literature review. Consider what the evidence indicates about how this practice contributes to better outcomes.
Explore possible consequences of failing to adopt the evidence-based practice that you identified.
Consider how you would disseminate information about this evidence-based practice throughout your organization or practice setting. How would you communicate the importance of the practice?
To complete:
In a 3- to 4-page paper:
Restate your PICOT question and its significance to nursing practice.
Summarize the findings from the articles you selected for your literature review. Describe at least one nursing practice that is supported by the evidence in the articles. Justify your response with specific references to at least 2 of the articles.
Explain how the evidence-based practice that you identified contributes to better outcomes. In addition, identify potential negative outcomes that could result from failing to use the evidence-based practice.
Outline the strategy for disseminating the evidence-based practice that you identified throughout your practice setting. Explain how you would communicate the importance of the practice to your colleagues.
Describe how you would move from disseminating the information to implementing the evidence-based practice within your organization. How would you address concerns and opposition to the change in practice?
This part of the Course Project is due. It should be combined with the other two components of the Course Project and turned in as your Portfolio Assignment for this course.
Note: In addition, include a 1-page summary of your project.
You will combine Parts 1, 2, and 3 of your Course Project (assigned in Weeks 2, 4, and 8 respectively) into one cohesive and cogent paper.
For this final iteration, you will need to:
Submit your paper to Grammarly and SafeAssign through the Walden Writing Center. Based on the Grammarly and SafeAssign reports, revise your paper as necessary.
Reminder: The School of Nursing requires that all papers submitted include a title page, introduction, summary, and references. The School of Nursing Sample Paper provided at the Walden Writing Center provides an example of those required elements (available from the Walden University website found in
this week’s Learning Resources). All papers submitted must use this formatting.

Question 4310: Identifying a Researchable Problem
For the Course Project, you identify and apply relevant research to a specific nursing topic or problem.
You begin by formulating an answerable question that is relevant to nursing and evidence-based practice. In later weeks of this course, you continue the Course Project by conducting a literature review and then determining how the evidence from the literature can be applied to nursing practice.
Before you begin, review the Course Project Overview document located in this week’s Learning
Resources.
Course Project: Part 1—Identifying a Researchable Problem
One of the most challenging aspects of EBP is to actually identify the answerable question.—Karen Sue Davies
Formulating a question that targets the goal of your research is a challenging but essential task. The question plays a crucial role in all other aspects of the research, including the determination of the research design and theoretical perspective to be applied, which data will be collected, and which tools
will be used for analysis. It is therefore essential to take the time to ensure that the research question addresses what you actually want to study. Doing so will increase your likelihood of obtaining meaningful results.
In this first component of the Course Project, you formulate questions to address a particular nursing issue or problem. You use the PICOT model—patient/population, intervention/issue, comparison, and outcome—outlined in the Learning Resources to design your questions.
To prepare:
Review the article, “Formulating the Evidence Based Practice Question: A Review of the Frameworks,” found in the Learning Resources for this week. Focus on the PICOT model for guiding the development of research questions.
Review the section beginning on page 71 of the course text, titled, “Developing and Refining Research Problems” in the course text, which focuses on analyzing the feasibility of a research problem.
Reflect on an issue or problem that you have noticed in your nursing practice. Consider the significance of this issue or problem.
Generate at least five questions that relate to the issue which you have identified. Use the criteria in your course text to select one question that would be most appropriate in terms of significance, feasibility, and interest. Be prepared to explain your rationale.
Formulate a preliminary PICO question—one that is answerable—based on your analysis.
What are the PICO variables (patient/population, intervention/issue, comparison, and outcome) for this question?
Note: Not all of these variables may be appropriate to every question. Be sure to analyze which are and are not relevant to your specific question.
Using the PICOT variables that you determined for your question, develop a list of at least 10 keywords that could be used when conducting a literature search to investigate current research pertaining to the question.
To complete:
Write a 3- to 4-page paper that includes the following:
A summary of your area of interest, an identification of the problem that you have selected, and an explanation of the significance of this problem for nursing practice
The 5 questions you have generated and a description of how you analyzed them for feasibility
Your preliminary PICOT question and a description of each PICOT variable relevant to your question
At least 10 possible keywords that could be used when conducting a literature search for your PICOT question and a rationale for your selections
Question 4311: Dashboard Benchmark Evaluation
Review the performance dashboard for a health care organization, as well as relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies. Then, write a report for senior leaders in the organization that communicates your analysis and evaluation of the current state of organizational performance, including a recommended metric to target for improvement.
Maintaining standards and promoting quality in modern health care are crucial, not only for the care of patients, but also for the continuing success and financial viability of health care organizations. In the era of health care reform, health care leaders must understand what quality care entails and how quality in health care connects to the standards set by relevant federal, state, and local laws and
policies. An understanding of relevant benchmarks that result from these laws and policies, and how they relate to quality care and regulatory standards, is also vitally important.
· Health care is a dynamic, complex, and heavily regulated industry. For this reason, you will be expected to constantly scan the external environment for emerging laws, new regulations, and changing industry standards. You may discover that as new policies are enacted into law, ambiguity in interpretation of
various facets of the law may occur. Sometimes, new laws conflict with preexisting laws and regulations, or unexpected implementation issues arise, which may warrant further clarification from lawmakers.
Adding partisan politics and social media to the mix can further complicate understanding of the process and buy-in from stakeholders.
How many health care laws can you name that affect your practice in your current or future workplace?
How do they impact your daily work? How many regulatory agencies oversee the types of services your health care organization provides? Which regulatory agencies apply to your workplace setting? Are you familiar with the process of complying with those agencies in order to maintain certification? You might
be overwhelmed as you consider these broad questions.
· As you prepare to complete this assessment, you may want to think about other related issues to deepen your understanding or broaden your viewpoint. You are encouraged to consider the questions below and discuss them with a fellow learner, a work associate, an interested friend or family member, or a member of your professional community. Note that these questions are for your own development and exploration and do not need to be completed or submitted as part of your assessment.
What local, state, or federal health care policies or laws set benchmarks and standards reflected in performance dashboards common in your professional area of practice?
· What are the potential challenges or opportunities for health care organizations or interprofessional teams in meeting prescribed performance benchmarks and standards? Factors you might consider include the organization’s mission, its size and resources, operational policies and procedures, and the population the organization serves.
· Preparation
For this assessment, you may choose one of the following three options for a performance dashboard to use as the basis for your benchmark evaluation.
Option 1: Dashboard and Health Care Benchmark Evaluation Simulation
If you decide to use one of the simulation dashboards for your evaluation, review both dashboards, as well as the relevant local, state, and federal laws and policies linked in each dashboard. Choose one of the dashboards and consider the metrics within it that are falling short of the prescribed benchmarks.
Option 2: Actual Dashboard From a Professional Practice Setting
If you choose an actual dashboard from a professional practice setting for your evaluation, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:
· The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.
· The specific type of care delivery.
· The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.
· The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.
Note: Ensure that your data is Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) compliant. Do
not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.
Option 3: Hypothetical Dashboard Based on a Professional Practice Setting
If you have a sophisticated understanding of dashboards that are relevant to your own practice, you
may also construct a hypothetical dashboard for your evaluation, based on that setting. Your hypothetical dashboard must present at least four different metrics, at least two of which must be under-performing the relevant benchmark set forth by a federal, state, or local laws or policies. In addition, be sure to add a brief description of the organization and setting that includes:
· The size of the facility that the dashboard is reporting on.
· The specific type of care delivery.
· The population diversity and ethnicity demographics.
· The socioeconomic level of the population served by the organization.
Note: Ensure that your data is HIPAA compliant. Do not use any easily identifiable organization or patient information.
Report Requirements
Structure your report in such a way that it would be easy for a colleague or supervisor to locate the information they need. Be sure to cite relevant local, state, or federal health care laws or policies when evaluating metric performance against prescribed benchmarks. Cite an additional 2–4 credible sources
to support your analysis and evaluation of the challenges in meeting the benchmarks, the potential for performance improvement, and your advocacy for ethical action.
Note: The tasks outlined below correspond to grading criteria in the scoring guide.
In your report, be sure to:
· Evaluate dashboard metrics against the benchmarks set by local, state, or federal health care laws or policies.
9. Which metrics are below the mandated benchmarks in the organization? Evaluate weaknesses within the entire set of benchmarks.
9. What are the local, state, or federal health care laws or policies that set these benchmarks?
. Analyze challenges that meeting prescribed benchmarks can pose for the organization or for an interprofessional team.
10. What are the specific challenges or opportunities that the organization or interprofessional team might have in meeting the benchmarks? For example, consider:
1. The strategic direction of the organization.
1. The organization’s mission.
1. Available resources:
3. Staffing.
3. Operational and capital funding.
3. Physical space.
3. Support services (any ancillary department that supports a specific care unit in the organization, such as a pharmacy, cleaning services, and dietary services).
1. Cultural diversity in the organization.
1. Cultural diversity in the community.
1. Organizational processes and procedures.
10. How might these challenges be contributing to benchmark underperformance?
. Evaluate a benchmark underperformance in the organization or interprofessional team that has the potential for greatly improving overall quality or performance.
11. Which metric is underperforming its benchmark by the greatest degree?
11. Which benchmark underperformance is the most widespread throughout the organization or interprofessional team?
11. Which benchmark affects the greatest number of patients?
11. Which benchmark affects the greatest number of staff?
11. How does this underperformance affect the community the organization serves?
11. Where is the greatest opportunity for improvement in the overall quality or performance of the organization or interpersonal team—and ultimately in patient outcomes?
. Advocate for ethical action in addressing the benchmark underperformance that has the potential for greatly improving overall quality or performance.
12. At which group of stakeholders should your advocacy be directed? Which group could be expected to take the appropriate action to improve the benchmark metric?
12. What are some ethical actions that the stakeholder group could take that support improved benchmark performance?
12. Why should the stakeholder group take action?
. Communicate your findings and recommendations in a professional and effective manner.
13. Ensure that your report is well organized and easy to read.
13. Write clearly and logically, using correct grammar, punctuation, and mechanics.
. Integrate relevant sources to support your arguments, correctly formatting source citations and references using current APA style.
14. Did you cite relevant local, state, or federal health care laws or policies when discussing the mandated benchmarks?
